What about an enriched class in lieu of an emphasis on fast pace?

By opening it up to more children mcps will be right back to where is started- too many children accelerated who actually are not that strong in math. Those children will struggle in the higher level classes.

I think that's a good move. That assessment was bullshit.
Your kid didn't pass? Just wait. Doubt end results will be good here.
Actually my kid is in compacted, thanks anyway. Just wait for what?
Just wait for MCPS to go from bad to worse, probably. The common belief on DCUM is that
1. everything MCPS does is bad
2. but every change MCPS makes is worse
Math is really the case in point. When lots of kids were accelerated, that was bad. When fewer kids were accelerated, that was bad. When almost no kids were accelerated, that was bad. When some kids were accelerated, that was bad. When more kids will be accelerated, that will be bad. (Etc.)
