This is a common saying. I have actually not heard it used in DCUM though. Most DCUM moms would beg to differ.

My son has a very high IQ, and is outstanding in school when he is interested in the subject. If he is not, he couldn't care less and can't even focus. I think he will be very success in a field that he enjoys (design/arts/programming). If he goes into something that he's not interested there is no way he can be successful, regardless of his IQ.

I dont know. I think you need above average IQ to be the best in many fields.
