He was critiquing those roles, NOT supporting them. And he did it poorly and admitted it.

Feminism has changed a lot since 1975.
There are no gray areas here. A 12 year-old rape victim is not fair game for any decent human being.
Our view of rape, and rape laws, have also changed a lot since 1975.

If the thought of protecting a 12-year-old who was brutally raped has changed since 1975, then we must have been a terribly callous nation in ’75.
I was a young adult then. It has NOT changed that dramatically.
In 1975, the rape of a 12-year-old was outrageous and unacceptable. Period.

+1000. People on here seem to have a gross misunderstanding of what criminal defense attorneys do. Even if Clinton actually knew her client was guilty, she still had a duty to zealously represent him.

I would not say they dismiss it. I saw an interview with him about it and he was apologetic and said that it was horrible writing and pretty embarrassing. It was also written 40 years ago.
And Hillary Clinton defended this person 40 years ago, correct?
Saying it it was an attempt at a Fifty Shades of Grey thing is pretty dismissive.

Feminists were already trying to fight those horrific smear tactics that were used in court to destroy and discredit rape victims. I am sorry but Hillary Clinton is not a good person. Regardless of the law at the time, she did not behave like a human being with a heart.
