The most important question--really the ONLY question--is, does your child really understand the Math? Some years ago my DD was breezing through advanced math classes in MCPS, scoring well on report card. But we soon realized, she was just doing things by rote. She didn't really have any depth to her understanding. We had her repeat the geometry she had taken in middle school when she was a freshman in HS. it wasn't easy getting her schedule changed. We had to fight MCPS, including meeting one-on-one with the principal. The school wanted to tout the number of kids in advanced math classes. So, be careful. It's NOT so simple to get off the advanced math treadmill.
