Costco has a liquor store??? Is this MD? I'm jealous

No we get it when we are in Delaware. The Kirkland stuff is freaking great.

I know no one on DCUM will believe this, but the DC Costco is superior to the suburban Costcos (especially that shoebox in Crystal City) in every way. The expansive wine and liquor selection may be the most important way.

At home? none.

Monthly? Roughly $20-40. About 1-2 bottles of wine. Per month.

We have a fully stocked liquor cabinet and never drink any of it. When we have a party (once or twice a year) we probably spend a couple hundred on alcohol and we probably have a few bottles of wine extra during the holidays.

I view wine as a hobby. DW views it as hoarding.

This, except I am the DW collector and my H shakes his head (though will happily drink it when I open up the bottles that have reached peak drinking windows).

Beyond wine we buy 2 cases of craft beer a month (we're part of a beer club where everyone brings a case to participate) for roughly $100.

I'm single and go out most weekends. Probably $50/week? I don't spend much on other entertainment.

Yeah of course, why wouldn't we?

A case of DC Brau from Costco a month plus about 2 $15 bottles of wine a week... so a little north of $150. worth every penny!

For a number of years we spent probably $3,000 per year. Plus there were other costs, obviously, related to drinking that much, both monetary and non-monetary. Now we don't drink. Not surprisingly, our household income is much higher.

Most months, $5-10 (for cooking). Summer, maybe $30/month. We're not big drinkers.

We are very light drinkers. probably $20/month. One bottle of wine, and one 6 pack of microbrew beer.

Now, cooking wine, well that might add another $10/month, but that is food, right?
