You have GOT TO BE JOKING!
Almost every year they mess up my taxes. And every SINGLE TIME it is their fault, not mine. Here are some examples:
- form sent back because W2 not attached. [I don't have a W2 at this point, I am self employed which is clear from my tax return... I have to go into the office to clear this up and they just tell me it's their mistake, an intern just sent it back without understanding that not everyone has a W2]
- same year, because they screwed this up and send it back to me erroneously I am also charged a penalty for not filing my taxes on time [even though I did but they rejected them]
- multiple times being charged fees for late payment of estimated taxes when they were paid on time but the DC office of tax and revenue didn't bother to open them for weeks [fortunately I always send by recorded mail]
- losing estimated payments that we have paid and documented [we always keep copies] - they miraculously find them once I go to their office
- taking months to years to correct penalties and fees they have tacked on due to their errors
