happens all the time. There was one recently in our neighborhood and after a few chats with the police and changing of stories, turns out she made it up.

My daughter was a Victim of abuse by a stranger at age 3 and 3 years later she still remembers this person's description to details like how the glasses fit on the woman's face.
Just because you have the brains of a pea it doesn't mean other people can't remember things.

In the last 24 hours, the alleged kidnapper has now been spotted 2 separate times trying to lure kids into his car. With this type of determination, I guess we should be expecting a kidnapping shortly. At least that's what would happen in a Lifetime movie.

Yes. Let's not let them do anything their entire childhoods because of one RARE possible incident (which in fact the kids handled well and appropriately).

Talk to the parents who had that RARE possible incident occur. No need to not let kids play, but no need to throw caution to the wind either. The kids are safe because they were quick-thinking AND able to get to an adult.

Absolutely not. I was in a similar situation when I was 12 where I was alone at the bus stop and a man tried to get me to get into his car. He started to turn his car so he would be closer to me on the curb and I took off. I could still to this day tell you everything I saw and felt and thought in the span between him pulling up to me initially and me getting back to my house. The child's brain obviously knew something was wrong and kicked into protective mode. The instinct of fear is real. Good for this child.
