OP, I lost it way late compared to most guys and you would be surprised if you saw me in public - athletic, reasonably sociable. But I was shy with women, could have done it starting at 17-18 but always looked at sex as something special to be shared between two people.

We don't know this man. Maybe he has been thinking along the lines that I was and as time has gone by is embarrassed by it as we live in a hypersexual society where everyone is expected to be a sexual virtuoso. If you like him and he is a good human being, I say give it a chance until he gives you a reason not to.

I would assume he's Mormon or deeply religious. Or low testosterone or gay, otherwise. I would also assume that the sex would be bad.

I'm not writing him off yet. I just don't know. We had our first real kiss yesterday, and that's after two months of dating without anything. Well we hug, hold hands, and he gave me an awkward peck a week ago.

Yesterday's kiss was a real kiss and a good one ( in the sense I could tell he was attracted to me), but it was obvious he was not experienced.

That's when I found out he's a virgin.

So it's odd, but maybe , it really is just one of those things.

Seriously op sometimes it just happens. Give him a chance. It sounds exactly like my dh just a few years earlier (and he isn't meek and indecisive either like another pp thinks). And he was ticking a six pack. I was weirded out too for awhile and now look back and think I was acting like an idiot.

And my dh isn't religious either, he was just kind of shy and introverted

You should ask him what the deal is. It's unusual that's for sure.

He's like most of my friends an I who grew up going to church or whatever with the family, but don't really practice now except maybe attending Christmas mass or something.

Someone I know , knows his siblings and they are not virgins.
