OP, you are the type that has a miserable time at Disney because you don't listen to good advice. You are going in the hottest, most crowded time of the year. I've been to Disney more than 100 times, and I'd never go in July.
To have a decent time, you need to:
---Go first thing in the morning. Be there when it opens. You will have about two hours before the crowds start.
--Go back to your hotel, nap, swim and eat in the afternoon.
--Go back to the park in the evening for nighttime parades, fireworks, and other rides.
--Stay long enough to enjoy it. As others have said, its the first few days that are expensive. After a certain point, adding days is only about 20 bucks.
Anonymous wrote:OP here. Thank you all so much. I don't DH would be able to stand five days in Disney, lol! This might be a really dumb question, but what is the best way to avoid lines (knowing that we'll end up standing in some of them?)
I didn't even know there was a Frozen ride opening up this summer, so thank you for that.
What is the best place to scan what all is going on within the different parks? Is the official Disney website the best place, or is there a blog or some other website that explains what's where, what's best for what ages? I know there are a million Disney-dedicated websites out there, so just trying to cut through some of the noise. Thanks!

Mine isn't great at staying up late and being functional the next day. For her, sleeping til 8 is sleeping in. I have a feeling she'll be so excited she will be up early each day. But we might be able to plan on an afternoon nap if she does that.
Anonymous wrote:OP here. I think 5 days will cost too much. I mentioned 4 to DH this morning and he said: Really??!
I think 3-4 is much more likely, and I think Magic Kingdom for sure. I wasn't planning to do Epcot, but with this new Frozen ride, I think I'll have to. And I was thinking about Animal Kingdom but I'll have to price it all out.
