No, but I am a teacher and my system is so strict about alcohol that a colleague was reprimanded for posting to FB a photo that showed her holding a glass of wine while talking to an elected official at an evening event for teachers.

I have a beer at lunch sometimes. Not every week, but probably once a month. It's food specific - a friend and I meet up to go get burgers at a pub and get pints to go along with them.

I don't find that I'm more tired than I would be if I just ate the burger. One beer with food is not "drinking" as far as I'm concerned.

I travel a lot and a glass of wine at lunch is pretty common in some cities. In London the in-office catering often provides wine. In Montreal wine is common at lunch, in Toronto less so. In Paris it's pretty standard.So I will have it on occasion if clients are having it.

At client dinners I generally have a glass (or two) of wine if it's being served.

Many think it's not a meal without the right wine pairing. A few don't drink wine, but just water or something non-alcoholic.
I posted on here recently that teachers at my high school could pick up little carafes of red or white in the cafeteria lunch line, which was open to both students and staff.

My father, before he retired, had two hour lunches with his colleagues, in which they talked of nothing by food, recipes, food prep, shopping for food, wine, alcohol, etc. And these were all men.

I have a drink or two at lunch out every once in a while, but it's always a "special occasion" type thing, like a farewell lunch with a coworker.

About 30 years ago, drinks at lunch were the norm. Most offices had liquor cabinets. We used to call them liquid lunches if we got too tipsy and decided not to go back to work.

It wasn't as crazy as it sounds, but it did happen all the time.

In my city (dominated by oil companies) the drinking all stopped completely during work hours after the crash of the Exxon Valdez oil tanker in Alaska. Most major corporations instituted policies against the consumption of alcohol during work hours.

I telework almost 100% of the time and it has never occurred to me to drink during the work day. I like to drink, and I do drink, but that one I've never done.

When I was in the office, we would very rarely drink at lunch. If it was a coworker's special birthday, or a holiday lunch or something like that, we'd have a glass of wine.

I did once work for a company that had monthly meetings that ended at 4pm, after which the boss would invite us for cocktails in his office. That always seemed odd to me. I'd rather leave at 4 and drink with my friends.

A couple of times. Pretty rare at work. At home I might whip up a weak afternoon cocktail around 4:00 and keep working. That's happened about a couple dozen times over a bunch of years.

My last company would provide wine and beer every Friday around 3:00 in the conference room. My first week there I was surprised because (1) cost and (2) everyone drives home afterwards (think liability). This was on the west coast tech company though. At that same company, by boss did try to force me to drink on his birthday. He brought the whole team into his office and offered everyone a shot of some high end scotch. I don't drink so I declined. His response was (and I quote) "really? are you sure you want to do that? everyone else is celebrating with me." I was floored. think... high-school peer pressure and boss in position of power pressuring someone to do something that may have been against my religious beliefs." In my case... yes it was.

I used to work in London and we drank at lunch from time to time. Now, I telework full time and don't really drink ever but I might if it was a special occasion or the holidays.
