Hahah! YES I think it's great. I know someone that did this, the other spouse was so happy the house was very clean. No fights, other spouse appreciate it, everyone happy.

ALSO, it's wrong wrong wrong to lie to your spouse. Don't start.

Just hire someone and say it's a trial. Your DH will see how much nicer life is. And the issue will be over.

do not hide it, for a variety of reasons, one of which is that he (like my husband) will continue to think that boring, tedious and time consuming but necessary tasks (registering the kids for classes, putting away everyone's laundry, cleaning out the frig, paying our bills, planning birthday parties) get magically done by fairies and elves.

The woman I babysat for as a kid did this and it made everyone happy. If it isn't a budget buster for your family, it's not the end of the world.

Maybe you are just a neater person than I am, so this doesn't apply to you. But a lot of times, we have toys all over the floor, backpacks and homework and jnunk mail on the kitchen counter, clothes and shoes random places, etc. and it's just disrespectful to ask someone to vaccum your floor, then have a bunch of Legos all over it that they have to pick up first.

I use one occasionally, and my DH has never cared. Of all the things you need to do as workings parents, cleaning is by far the easiest to outsource. I would just suggest you try it once and see how your DH reacts.

Same here, especially in the kids room (the kids do this). Our cleaner is happy to straighten up their rooms but then the kids can't find their stuff -- which is their problem for not taking care of their stuff in the first place.
