We just got our letter today (VA). Accepted for 5th!!

Landon offers support. Sta does not.

PP, those are the 2 schools to which DS applied. How is Landon better at educating?

We have one DS at STA and one at Landon. Both boys are happy, but I have to say I think Landon does an overall better job of educating the boys.

Our DS is new this year in MS and LOVES it. Very inclusive and welcoming.

You don't need to excel to be accepted, though that can help (at Landon and other schools). The school wants to have enough boys to field its various teams and clubs, so it wants to see boys who will be likely to participate in sports and theater and music and other ECs that are offered at the school. E.g., the fact that your son is a world-class rock-climber or kayaker will be interesting but I can't see it helping much except in the "does the kid have passion" question.

Would one sport be enough?

most of the kids who play handbells are the jocks....

I went to their Handbells concert last night and that could not be further from the truth. Do you honestly think every boy in Landon plays a sport? Stop with your outside generalization.

Take it from a parent with two boys that went thru Landon. As they get older, it becomes harder. Sorry, but a fact.
