Both of my best friends married their prom dates/first boyfriends. One completely regrets it, the other doesn't. But the other's DH sure seems like he does.

i met my first boyfriend in high school, his sister was actually dating my brother. My brother and his sister got married (at 20 and 21) and eventually divorced but we got married (at 26) and are still going strong 3 kids and 9 years later.

We both split ways in college and dated other people but eventually found our way back to each other. Maybe that's not what you're asking but technically he was my first boyfriend.

Yes! We met in high school and started dating our junior year. We have been together for 16 years now and have a toddler.

pp here: forgot to mention she was 2 years younger, which made her dating impossible. I could come to her family. We never progressed beyond holding hands until 20 years later.

I did -- but 20 years later. I met her on a BBYO you outing when I was 14. We went out a few times, but it was difficult as we lived 1 hour apart: (think opposite sides of a metro area, like Manassas to Annapolis. In our case, it was possible to take public transportation, but it would be a two our ride with a change of train in the center.

We drifted appart.

19 years later, we randomly bumped into each other in an on line chat room. She had just left a bad marriage and I was single (just out of a bad LTR).

We did not realize who we were until we met -- she was living at home, in the same city, I was living in the DC area, but was passing through coming from a family party. (We had not exchanged full names).

We looked at each other, and I said, Bonnie? BBYO 1978?

We were married 18 months later, and are still married today.

Yes, I met him when I was 26 and we married when I was 30. I was not my DH's first girlfriend, but he only had one serious one before me. My sister also married her first boyfriend and she was his first girlfriend. They married at 32. So, in my family it is quite common. I do think it happens more than people think.

I did. I had gone on dates with other guys, but I wouldn't characterize any of them as a boyfriend. I was 25 when I met him though.

2 of my 5 college roommates married their first (high school) boyfriends, who they dated long distance throughout college.

I did...met DH my freshman year in college. He was my first BF...never dated anyone else. We got married at 24 and had kids at 32.

I did. Met at 17, started dating at 19, married at 25. Married now for 13 years, 2 kids. Very happily married. Sometimes I wish I could have dated more/slept with other people but not at the expense of what I have now.

Yes. Met DH in undergrad. Twenty years later, still happily married, with two children. To make it truly old-fashioned, he is also my first and only for everything except kissing and hand-holding.

Yes. Met DH when I was 17 and he was 23. Married at age 18. Will be married for 18 years this year.

No, and thank goodness. Was with my first boyfriend for 7 years starting at 15. I would have ended up divorced if I had married him.

Happily married now.
