Carrier Tech just gave Trump and Cruz more gasoline for the fire.

Im confused. Why would this help Trump. Trump's entire clothing line Is made in China, Mexico, and Bangladesh. He would support a move like this based on his own actions.

Trump has gone after companies who move oversea for cheap labor. He says he will put tariffs in place to make it impossible for those companies to make a profit exporting their products back to the U.S. I agree with him. Something has to be done to keep jobs here. Our tax system already hugely favors financial firm over manufacturing.

The US has one of the highest business tax rates in the industrial world. Until that issue is addressed we will continue he to see more companies leave the US. It's basic math.

Not really. The actual effective tax rate here is 27.1%. The effective OECD average us 27.7%. Conservatives point to the marginal rate but forget about all the deductions they created.

H1B visas- bring people in and we can see the children and grandchildren of prior H1B who are US citizens get snookered out of a job.

On another thread I commented that based on my experience if a person can work an iphone, laptop, etc they can work at a call center with training. Homeless due to jobless people in DC ? https://www.outsource2india.com/callcenter/site/

Low middle class income v no income? People moved from the south for manufacturing jobs in the north. Jobs gone.

1000%

We should tariff or tax every dollar - dollar for dollar - of labor outsourced overseas. Heck $2 for every dollar.

I would also put a moratorium on all h1b visas until our college grads all have reasonable job opportunitues.

Exactly.

Look, I understand comparative advantage and all that but I believe there is going to be a massive backlash towards autarky/self-sufficiency and trade walls being put up as more and more people become unemployed.

Covington might not be moving 1000 jobs to Mexico so DCUM's are befuddled about Trump's rise, but this is a big reason why he is popular.

I am not surprised that: United Technologies is moving their Carrier Division to Mexico.United Technology Corporation and their divisions, have been the target of the Enviromental Protection Agency, since the late 60's.They all but closed their Pratt & Whitney Division of United Technologies down, along with other manufacturing and testing facilities, in the state of Conn. In the 60's, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford,Conn.employed some 75,000 employees. Their airport is gone and the massive buildings are now being mostly used for storage, with the exception of some 4,000 employees. One of many corporations across the U.S., that have succumb to the outrageous regulations of the E.P.A.All of this is part of a government Socialist agenda, to Re-Distribution wealth on a global scale. If one is a proponent of Social and Economic Equality, he/she supports the relocation of U.S. corporations.

United Technologies Leadership Team:

Gregory Hayes makes a ton of money:

DailyKos conveniently has campaign contributions which while higher for repubs never neglects the dems:

I don't want to buy a fing airconditioner unit made in Mexico. Is it even possible for an elected official such as the pres to take executive action?

I posted this in another thread, but it's relevant here also:

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/fundraising/268782-clinton-campaign-hosting-fundraisers-in-mexico

Clinton is holding a fundraiser in Mexico City and one of the hosts is a Walmart lobbyist. I'm sure she can expect a big check from United Technologies.

Because people are not paying attention to his actions. They only hear what he tells them.--or they only hear what they think he is saying........

+1 Some people are so blind. He's his own special interest group. He doesn't care about low income minorities.

And Dcum does? Lol! Look at the thread about locating low income family housing in NW and see how much others care!

But DCUM nor any of its posters (most likely) are running for President, are they? Trump is a business man. He understands why those jobs need to go some place. He understands businesses need to be profitable. Heck, he understands that when your company can't be profitable, you can always file for bankruptcy. He certainly did it numerous times.

Trump capitalizes on unfocused anger. And I bet he actually means what he says, when he says it. But two days later he will change his mind and he won't even realize it.
