There are tennis walls you can practice on at Jefferson Park off of Lee Hwy in Merrifield and at Wakefield Park off of Braddock Road in fairfax

I'm around your age and would also like to start. I took lessons about 10 years ago and liked it, but never continued. I don't want to be a tennis pro, just want to be able to be able to play at a social level.

If anyone has recommendations for someone "older" who is a beginner, please feel free to drop names. NoVa.

My Dad started in his late 50s. He liked it. But he did develop some issues in his elbows and shoulders that forced him to stop. He was in pretty good shape (bikes a ton usually) but it was a bit too high impact for him I think.

It will depend!

Coincidentally, this was just published, and talks specifically about tennis.

Rock Creek tennis at Carter Barofn on 16th Street has beginner clinics. I started playing tennis when I was 50.

This made me laugh! It is tennis, not pro-wrestling.

45 is not 80, FYI.

This should be said more often on the explicit thread.

Of course not.
I always find these sorts of "am I too old" questions weird. The answer is almost always "no."
