I just did one. I found it cheaper than other options - we got air, hotel and one excursion. We then added on also using Icelandair to book because their rates were better than going directly to the company. Icelandair only uses Reykjavik excursions though so you are limited as to providers by booking through them.

FWIW, we did not book through them. We looked on tripadvisor and picked companies that were popular/well-reviewed and offered what we were interested in.

If you are looking for things to do, another website to check out is the Reykjavik Excursions website. If you are planning on going to Blue Lagoon, I would recommend that you book weeks to months in advance. We just returned from Iceland and even two weeks out, I was unable to book it because it was full.
Another recommendation is that if you are planning to use a bus to get from the airport to Reykjavik, book your tickets before you leave. The line at the airport was several hours long by the time we cleared customs (we had booked in advance). People not only book their FlyBus, but also book their excursions in the same line and no one is in a rush to make decisions or move the line along.
I found Iceland to be about the most expensive vacation we ever took and I am very good at finding deals and ways to travel on a budget.

Visited there with friends (one of whom was from there) several years ago.
Beautiful country, enjoyed the Blue Lagoon and visiting some of the natural sites (e.g., geysers). Was expensive to eat out, but that may have changed since then.
