I don't wish to be widowed (how awful!) but I have on occasion thought about how I would handle it if I were. DH is 7 years older than me and not great about taking care of his health so I fully expect that one day he will go before me.

Absolutely. Shameful.

OP, it's your marriage that you want dead, not your DH.

Yes I've fantasized about it in two of my relationships. Once when I was engaged and we ended up not making to the altar. And another time with my now ex husband. I've realized that when I start thinking about that, it's my relationship that is dead.

You wouldn't wish it on yourself. Nice. Burial arrangements ARE a hassle, aren't they?

And losing her father wouldn't be even more sad?

No. Next to my children dying, this is my biggest fear. I'm not sure how I could recover .

I'm also widowed. All I can ask in response to your post, OP, is whether you and your DH have children together. I wouldn't wish the devastation and heartache my children know upon anyone.

No, but I wish he would decide to leave and go somewhere else, but give me all of his money.

The thread says sometimes, and I presume OP is having a difficult husband. If you're happily married, then this is a horrible thread. But if you're not - sometimes, people do wish to be rid of their troubles, although it's practically a stupid thing to wish for.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You're right.

I admit I have thought it in the past. Then an acquaintance lost her husband suddenly in December. I would not wish that on myself or anyone ever. Particularly anyone with kids.
