I keep asking her (with respect to this summer) "would you like to also do a week of xx camp here and there to mix it up or Steve and Kate's" - and the response is usually "Steve and Kate's"

My kids did not like Steve and Kate's because they do not really have any resources and they got bored. They do not want to go back.

Bumping this because I'm sending my rising Kindergarten daughter (she turns 6 in October) to Steve and Kate's in Alexandria for the entire summer. We did the free winter movie night in they put on in December and she loved it. The only downside for us is that it's very doubtful she'll have any school or neighborhood friends there--we live in Vienna, but this is near my work so it's convenient in that way.

My kids also LOVE this camp. I figured they’d get bored so signed them up for other camps for a few weeks throughout the summer to mix it up. After a few days at the other camps my kids were always begging to go back to Steve and Kate’s. They could absolutely spend the entire summer there.

As a parent, I enjoyed not having to pack lunches and the fact that "before and after care" are included in the fee. Also, we probably saved considering we didn't have to pay for days when she wasn't present.

Darn it--I thought you guys were referring to the area near the Van Ness metro stop, which would be doable for us. Looked at their website, and this is Van Ness Elementary, which won't work for our commutes coming from upper 16th St. area. Looks like a great camp!
