Well, it looks like they're going to announce the schools tomorrow. There was that whole survey that parents took to voice their opinions on extended day and extended year. I wonder if they even considered the survey results.

Oops, that should have read extended year program, not extended day

Below is an article on Raymond's extended day program. It sounds like it is the only one in DC right now, though from PP's posts it sounds like the chancellor is negotiating for other schools to do this, too as of next year:

There are schools where DCPS is trying to extend the school day but keep to the 180 instructional day limit. Other schools where they are extending the number of days.

To make this happen there has to be negotiation with the teachers union. That has slowed down the chancellor's plans.
