University of Phoenix is not a real school. And I would not date anyone who used STEM in a conversation. I supposed I am too old for that. I greatly dislike made up things like that. However, I do understand the value in labeling it for funding and academic consideration.

I'm married to a Deputy Sheriff. He's a Domestic Violence Officer. He's also a grant writer, we own half of a driving school, and we own another business. He went to a police academy. He is an amazing man, and I love him dearly.

My fiancé is a police officer with an associate's. He makes pretty good money and he's not a pretentious asshole, so I'll keep him. A degree isn't as important to me as being a go-getter and respected in your field--whatever it may be.

I married someone I went to school with for no other reason than a lot of the guys from my hick town couldn't deal with a woman having a career at all, so it had nothing really to do with school or degree. I overplayed my hand, though, because DH was a little too ok with it - he has used his degree for absolutely nothing (unemployed for 5+ years).

OP here. Who says I am a failure. I am quite happy with a career that I enjoy with adequate salary (~200K).
I was more turned off with the judging of people based purely on on the careers or wallet thickness....
I went to a state university for my BS, MS and PhD. I am well respected. I am married, mid 50's. And happy.
I was hoping people would realize how stupid they are being. At 30, you don't know the earning potential anyway. The big law associate will probably fail to make partner (most fail), and be stuck in a job they hate with (possibly) a mountain of debt.
At 30, I was a graduate student, earning about 10K (but with no debt).
At 25, you are looking at people just beginning the career. you can not no.
Stupid people are too stupid to realize how stupid they are
