OP here. Who says I am a failure. I am quite happy with a career that I enjoy with adequate salary (~200K).
I was more turned off with the judging of people based purely on on the careers or wallet thickness....
I went to a state university for my BS, MS and PhD. I am well respected. I am married, mid 50's. And happy.
I was hoping people would realize how stupid they are being. At 30, you don't know the earning potential anyway. The big law associate will probably fail to make partner (most fail), and be stuck in a job they hate with (possibly) a mountain of debt.
At 30, I was a graduate student, earning about 10K (but with no debt).
At 25, you are looking at people just beginning the career. you can not no.
