Nope. All of the parking around our DCPS is still filled with snow, and is completely unusable. The sidewalks between our house and the school (about 1 mi away) are a mess, and I'm not pushing my toddler's stroller down the middle of the street. I'm sure my little Larlo (who us currently in K) will still attend Harvard even if he misses a.few days of school this week.

Just dropped our kid off at the metrobus stop to school. The sidewalks were all shoveled, and we just had to hop one snow mound. Bus came on time. I'm really glad the schools opened on time today, as I had to make it into work (no delayed start for me).

We live 3 blocks from the school. Dropped our kid off on time. Only a third of her class was there. Her class is entirely IB kids (pk4) so I thought there'd be more of a turnout since our boundary is pretty small.

17th St, NE & SE a major commuter route had only 1 lane clear from C St, NE to Pennsylvania Ave.

Yeah having just driven almost entirely snow emergency routes to work I'm really wondering what on earth DC did with their time - 1 lane only in most places, backed up traffic even without fed workers and plenty of places turn lanes are covered by slush/snow. Also a fair number of people (including kids on their way to school) walking in the street because that's simply where the only break in the giant snow wall dumped them. 2 hour delay would not have changed anything - taking another day making sure sidewalks and curb cuts were accessible near schools would have.

Our bus is not running so we will not be going. Plus I think DCPS made a bad call opening the schools today.

We were going to take the bus but then I saw the detour and it doesn't let off anywhere near our school anymore. So, we are staying home - no way am I driving with roads in this state.
