You might try going to Labyrinth or Childs Play and just asking them for advice. I've found the people at Childs Play very helpful in the past.

Modern family board games have evolved and are far more interesting than monopoly, clue and sorry. Loving Pandemic right now, I have a 9-year old girl and we play this a lot. Also like Lost Cities, King of Tokyo, Takanoko and more...but Pandemic is the best.
