I'm so sorry for your recent loss. I hope you can focus on the child you have for a while and let yourself feel and experience the joy to your family right now, as it is.

OP, this sounds absolutely awful and incredibly painful. I am sorry. I also have one healthy child and am battling secondary infertility, including treatments.

I am trying to say to myself though, that I will take a step back and realize I have a beautiful life and family, to make sure I don't suffer (and make them suffer) with years of infertility battles. It is okay to just stop.

I desperately want a second and have shed many tears thinking that it might not happen. I am stil trying, but I want to think that my life will be happy even if it doesn't happen. It just seems so easy to get trapped in the infertility wormhole. Just food for thought.

Thank you PP. My previous loss (at 17 weeks) was due to Down syndrome, and was a fluke according to the genetic counselor. We are in the process of getting this new embryo tested, which should take a couple weeks. I'm sure I just have an egg quality issue... But if this embryo ends up being normal, my RE will run a few more tests. If not, I just have to keep playing the numbers game, I guess. I do have one healthy son. I want to believe that this is possible.

My heart goes out to you, OP. I also remember that dark place after 4 fresh IVF bfn's, plus a miscarriage. Where they able to do any tests with your previous miscarriage? Or would it be possible to do any tests in connection with this cycle? It might help you get valuable answers, especially if you have not been able to to PGD/CGS...

I don't get why people feel the need to push others to DE. We know it exists - but guess what - while we still have good years on our side maybe we aren't ready for DE. It's a massive decision to give up a genetic connection. The last 2 years my mom's side of the family has been mildly obsessed with doing the 23andme genetic tests. It's all anyone is talking about at get togethers. I really want my own biological child and will do all I can so if it doesn't happen I can at least say that I tried EVERYTHING. To each their own. Same here. on my 6th IVF had my 1st pregnancy in October. then m/c at 8 weeks. It was so awful. But here I am going into retrieval tomorrow for another try!

Forgot to add, my period runs like average 27-29 days. So, the mense starting just 23 days suggests me that although my beta is zero, other part of my body isn't back to normal self. So, I do not want to push new cycle yet.

PP with trisomy. From the time I had MC till the zero beta was about 25 days. As soon as my beta dropped to zero, my period started. Thereafter, I had another period started abt 23 days from that previous period.

I hear it can take good 3 to 4 mense cycle or longer for the body to fully return to the normal stage. So, I'm looking at fresh cycle towards the end of March/April. In the meantime doing everything I can think of to improve y odds next cycle. Good luck.
