I have friends with relatives there, but the only ones who travel home to visit are those with extremely wealthy families who have compounds with security. That's very telling.
You sound like an idiot.
Millions of Indian Americans of all social and economic classes travel to India every year. Try becoming more educated before spouting nonsense.

Folks, do you know just a tiny bit about world history? Have spent real time abroad? Still are in elementary school?
Um, we read the news. All it took was a doze news articles about women being gang raped and murdered in broad daylight in public for me to remove India from my bucket list.
FYI, there are plenty of other countries to travel to over a lifetime. Why bother with India?
How many people live in India, smarty pants? How many languages do they speak?
Your thinking is similar to this: because of all the mass shootings in the US, I won't visit Canada any more
See the timing of the thread. Someone intentionally went searching for derogatory news about India, with the intent to malign. Pure evil! Enjoy your hatred.

I'm not the OP, but in response to a pp: just do a google news search and you'll come up with tons of recent incidents. India isn't Mayberry. Stop pretending like it is.
We'll I can find a 100 things about any country for that matter. Do you want me to find 100s of articles on rape and pedophilia? No country is Mayberry
Find one article about a woman being gang raped on a crowded bus in broad daylight in the US or any country other than India.
Look, I clearly have energy on India. I'm not a fan of any country that tolerates human rights violations or dismisses the victimization of women as a cultural phenomenon. Rape, acid attacks, etc. Gross. YMMV.
. I wish you joy, peace and enlightenment. Have a great day!

Not the same thing at all. Generally speaking, an American woman can travel safely alone in the US, Canada and dozens of civilized countries. In India, that's simply not the case today. Does that mean that it's impossible to travel there without incident? Obviously not. But why bother traveling to India given the issues when there are so many other better countries to visit?
PS - this doesn't make me a racist, needlessly worrisome, an unseasoned traveler, etc.
Of course, so don't travel. An enlightening piece of information related to this article. Goa mentioned in OPs article is a city known for easy availability of drugs. Which is why tourists all over the world, flock there.
