I disagree. They are both trying to be better than Regal but they are trying in different ways. Arclight is just trying to be a better movie theater-- large screens, limited previews, reserved seats, good food (try the caramel corn!). iPic is trying something different-- serving dinner during the movies (in case you can't go 2 hours without food?), pillows, etc.

Also Arclight is a couple dollars more than Regal but iPic is a lot more, unless you are willing to sit in the first 2-3 rows.

Arclight is the one in Bethesda. Ipic is the one in Rockville. They are basically the same. Not for those who have been phobias!

We went recently. The 'regular' $16 seats are pointless. They are regular movie seats (maybe a little bit bigger) close to the screen. Maybe the other seats are worth it, but I'd rather take my own throw to the theater. Don't think we'll ever go again.
We recently went to the movies in Rockville center and discovered they upgraded their seats to recliners. Bring your own blanket and you have the iPic premium seat at regular old movie prices.

I've been to Arclight twice at Montgomery mall and really liked it. You choose your seats in advance, they have some gourmet items at the snack bar, and they have a bar which DH appreciated. It was worth the price. I don't need a reclining seat or blanket or food service, offered at ipic.

DH & I went right after it opened and we won't be back. We got the regular VIP seats which were fine. The food took forever before it was ready and was overpriced a day underwhelming.

On the other hand, we really like the new Arclight at Montgomery Mall.

HORK

How long did he work there? Isn't the theater relatively new?

Not long and yes, it's been there about a year. Said it was the worst job he's ever had....

OP here. Never heard of arclight, can you tell me about it?

ArcLight is at Montgomery Mall. (The new big one above the garage and food court that replaced the old crappy one in the basement where your feet stuck to the floor.)

Went there for Star Wars in 3D. First set of glasses broken. Subsequent pair covered with fingerprint. Think they let people use the same pairs without any cleaning in between. Gross.
