I have been invited to the ex girlfriend's parent's home on about five occasions for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner.

The Mother Facebook requested me to be her friend and at the time I had no reason not to accept her as a friend.
My phone number is in my profile and I am pretty sure that is how she obtained it.

I feel a bit relieved that some of you think I am overreacting. That probably nothing will come from this.

I've been visualizing them showing up at our home or his workplace with a gun and it being on the evening news as another senseless shooting.

Women get away with so much crazy stuff. Call the police get a restraining order for both your son and yourself(or your son does it). Both have already made threats. If you contact these people the craziness will just get worst.

Get a protective order OP. Where are you? In the DC area? We can list resources. But if you are in Montgomery County start with the Family Justice Center. They have legal help, therapy help, housing help, child care help, all under one roof.

I would contact police. It sounds like they're threatening you as well so you're within your rights to do that, even if your son doesn't want to.

The fact the girl's mother is so involved suggests to me it's more likely control issues on that side. Sounds like the mom would have brought up some egregiously bad behaviour if it existed.

Not to excuse the girls behavior but perhaps your son is not telling you the whole story. Maybe she got pregnant and he freaked and left after an abortion or something.

After 3.5 years it's pretty normal for parents of dating couples to have met each other and have each other's contact information. Especially if they live near each other.

I'd ask your son to call a lawyer or the police.

I also think you should be glad that your son got out of such a controlling relationship.
