30" should fit in most 30" cabinets. The 30" measurement refers to the length from edge of lip to edge of lip - not to the length of the box. The lips sit on the sides of the cabinet box and then the countertop goes on top. I saw a bunch of people asking/answering questions on overstock saying they used the 30" sink in a 30" cab.

Measure the cabinet really well. I bet a 30" sink would fit. That's what we did with my parents. The bottom fits in easily and the lip sits on top of the cabinet under the granite.

You don't realize how important a sink is until you have a truly awful one that you have to live with for years. My current house's sink was horrendous. It was shallow, very loud, scratched easily and we hated the 80/20 layout. The small side on the 80/20 was beyond useless and incredibly annoying.

Yes. It gets annoying after a while though. We have a 60/40 sink and only leave it in one side. Our kraus is amazing. I can't sing its praises enough. Prep sink is Franke and it scratches easier and isn't as nice.

I like our grid. It allows the water to flow and makes things easier to clean.

I'm the pp. I like it too, but it does require cleaning and can get gunky. I prefer it just on one side (the side with the disposal that we rinse into)

OP here. Who knew we could keep talking about sinks for two pages?! So I realize my cabinet under the sink is only 30" wide. That seems to limit my choices. If anyone loves their sink that sits in a 30" cabinet, let me know. I've seen some recommendations on Garden Web, so have a few starting points.

Home Depot poster here. We ordered the counter at the store. The sink was in one of the model kitchen set ups.

Interested in hearing about the Kraus sinks, too. Is there a slight angle in the sink to help with drainage? It looks like the sinks with the off set drain have rather square corners. How is it to clean?

OP here. Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I wouldn't even know where to start with brands, etc. To 5:53, did you order from Home Depot online, or did they have undermount sinks in the store?

Agree with others about the kraus sink. We've done two high end kitchens in the last 3 years (thanks to a job relocation) and bought this sink both times to drop in a 36" cabinet. Lots of other sizes. Available on overstock, wayfair, efaucets, etc.

Very, very happy - and much cheaper than franke and others.

We were looking to do the exact same thing, ikea counter sink elsewhere. We found that Home Depot was less expensive than IKEA for similar if not better quality. Plus, even with the lower price they measured and installed, plus we got a good quality under counter sink from them included in the price (so they definitely have them). The process was so much easier than IKEA.
