Eating Indian food out as a family.

Whole lotta nothing -- just the way we both like it. Every year we reaffirm our Valentine's Day détente, with an exception for cards, and every year we are both relieved.

We are away that weekend and doing a tasting dinner that night. That's unusual though - we are not big on Vday, are usually skiing with the family, and several years I've forgotten to buy a card and grabbed one of the kids class cards instead - Bieber, spongebob, etc. All I want for VDay is some conversation hearts - preferably the large ones.

We'll be celebrating a birthday and hopefully we can snag a babysitter so we can go out for dinner - the next night.

It's over Presidents Day weekend, so all four of us - DH, me, DD and DS will be in Florida together. I expect a bottle of wine on the balcony while kids are sleeping/reading/watching something on the screen.

DH and I take turns "hosting" Valentines day. I can't remember who did it last though. But I'm pregnant now and I'm sure he's going to go all out for our last baby free Valentines day. Romantic letter, home cooked dinner, chocolates are all that I ask for.

He did a scavenger hunt a few years ago and it was my most favorite holiday.

it is the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead- so we will be watching that, probably make dinner and have a few beers

My DH doesn't "believe" in Valentines Day. Or birthdays.
He will probably say something like "oh was I supposed to do something or get you something?" Or make an awkward joke to draw attention to the fact that he "failed." He will wait for me to reassure him that it is perfectly fine.
But it is not. It is a disappointment! Every year.
Last year he made plans with his MOM on my birthday and left me with all the kids. I told him that I was not okay with him ignoring my birthday and also setting this example for the kids. He got upset and said (basically) that I was being unreasonable and immature and "what the hell" did I expect. So I probably will keep my mouth shut about Valentines Day.
Sigh.

Will be pregnant still but hopefully get some good takeout food and a nice cake since it is my birthday too. Can't go anywhere because I have been put on bed rest but hopefully, baby won't come early and I will still get to enjoy my birthday and valentines day at home.

It's president's day weekend ... my H and son will be out of town for travel sports.

My best friend became a widow a month ago, I will make her dinner and tell her I love her. We will likely be wasted on wine at the time.

I'd be happy with a sitter at someone else's house for $20 so DH and I could stay in all evening.

That will majorly suck for your children when they get old enough to date and mommy and daddy make them feel horribly guilty for missing the family holiday.

I didn't realize until you mentioned it, but we will have a houseguest. So, likely we will fix dinner and stay in because it is sucker night at restaurants.

Plan nothing then get mad at DH when I don't get what I want
