She is being courteous. My daughter worked at Starbucks. 2 showers a day was the MINIMUM. Stale coffee smells horrible. Count your blessings that your furniture and house do not smell like old food.

I'd do the same. Makes perfect sense to me.

This thread is vague - "family member" - well who is it? If it's another adult, sorry, you don't have the right to dictate their shower habits.

If you're living in the same house, you need to figure out how to compromise so everyone's needs are met. You don't get to use up all the hot water.

I agree. It's not as if she's getting all dirty at night. Why does she need a morning shower too?

Turn up the water heater.

Can you put a clock in the bathroom?

I think she should be able to shower but keep it short if she's draining shared resources (pardon the pun).

Just ask her not to take such a long shower in the morning because there isn't enough hot water for you to shower, as well.

Otherwise, your complaint is insane. Why should anyone shower, given that they will just get dirty again the next day?

How do you know how long her shower should be?

Not the op. Showers should be long enough to clean but short enough to leave water for others in the household.
