Mil makes up stories to try to get a captive audience. Pitiful. I avoid her for very good reason.

Honestly, the best way to shut a gossip down is to not engage.

Next time she starts gossiping - just look at her blankly for 10 seconds (sounds short, but trust me it is an eternity). Then, change the subject. "I was thinking of painting the kitchen blue, Larlita - what do you think? "

Have a couple of these ready to go. Repeat as often as she does.
