Hm. Sounds about right. But what about SAHMs - how do they start affairs?

I'm not quite SAHM, but close enough. It was somebody I was in close contact with for a few months, and eventually I just told him I had a crush on him. I was pretty sure he felt the same. Ahem. He did. We kind of floundered forward.

In my case he said something along the lines of, "If I'm not mistaken you feel the same way I do." Total plausible deniability, which was essential because I was a work subordinate. But I am sure people go for the messy kiss all the time. That's why the drunk holiday party hookup is such a cliche.

I'm also curious about this. The sort of contextual scenarios mentioned here -- development of emotional connection, opportunity through social isolation, etc. -- make sense to me.

But what I can't really imagine for myself is the moment (and I suppose the moments leading up to it) where you go in for a kiss or some other act which you can't plausibly deny as just being friendly.

Nope. OP here.
I am essentially a bored SAHM now and stumbled across this forum and can not stop reading with fascination....

My neighbor just knocked on my door to ask how I was doing. He is the one in a relationship, but his girlfriend lives elsewhere.
No worries, nothing happened and I moved finally, but he had no business being over at my place.
