+1. My legal name is Sally Jones Smith. But if that wasn't the case, I would not put my maiden name on my resume. Where maiden name was relevant I might put "Publication Title (writing as Sally Jones)", but depending on the field even that might not be necessary. If you are listing published articles and someone bothers to look one up and see that the author is Sally Jones, they will figure it's you and you changed your name.

This might be a situation where LinkedIn is actually useful, too, to link your current name to your job history online.

Alternatively, I know people who go by Sally Jones at work and Sally Smith socially / at school.

First Maiden Married

Hopefully the email address you are sending the resume from is the name you prefer to go by (First Married). If not, and for whatever reason you really think SexxxyHokie6969 is a good email address for applying to jobs, just sign your email/cover letter "First Married".

You can also do Sally (Jones) Smith

My maiden name is now my middle name and I have the three names First-Middle(Maiden)-Last on my resume and on LinkedIn and Facebook. I don't think anyone has ever though I use both last names. If you use both, generally it would be hyphenated.

Sally Jones Smith. If they go to look up things, I bet they try Sally Jones too. You aren't the first woman to get married, employers have seen this before.
