Why not set it to what you want and an hour to two, you set it back to what she wants?

I hate having it too hate. I like it around 64 at night and maybe 66 during the day.
If it is a cost issue, just agree to pay a little more. Especially since you work from home.

Get a space heater to use in the area you work from home in. I despise being hot.. For some reason the heat running vs natural heat from the weather is awful. Its as if I can't breath.

In Boston, the heat has to be at least 68* between "awake" hours (7am-11pm) and 64* between "asleep" hours (11pm-7am). I would consider those levels to be an acceptable minimum (maybe there something similar where OP is located). OP should not have to shoulder more of the bill if the heat is at the bare minimum of acceptable, that's crazy... It's not like OP is asking to jack the heat to 75* 24/7.

Call your landlord with concerns that the low temperature may damage pipes and other things in the property. He will order the home bee kept at 68 degrees

1. She is crazy, and you should try to move her out because this will not be last problem you have with her.
2. You should offer to pay a bit more for January and February, since you work there during the day and need the heat turned to a more reasonable temp.

+1. I had a roommate like this in college who would try to put duct tape over the thermostat in the winter. She complained about being soooo broke, habing student loans, etc. Then why was she living in a nice luxury student apartment with pool, etc.
If she can't pay basic utilities, she needs to move elsewhere. It's not like you're asking her to chip in on HBO or something optional. And I disagree you should pay more because you're hearing the house while working from home. It's so much more energy efficient to maintain a reasonable temp like 66-68 degrees than to have the temp drop every morning and then work over time to heat back up in the evenings.

Your roommate is being completely unreasonable. I would tell her/ him that isf you cannot turn up the heat, you are using a personal heater and that will kill the electric bill.
I do think offering to pay a little more is reasonable since ypu work from home and otherwise would be able to lower the thermostat during the day.

I think you should pay a big more too since you need the house heated during the day. Maybe do a 1/3 vs. 2/3 split and keep it at 66.
