The fat content will satisfy her after a couple spoonfuls and she'll abandon it. A double scoop of artificially neon dyed HFCS flavored stuff with sprinkles, syrup, etc is going to end badly. She will be bonkers for 30 minutes then feel ill and need to go home.
We don't do candy parties or other sugar-centric events. I don't like cheap plastic shit either, but I'd rather you skipped her treats and gave her a couple noise-makers and those awful fake glasses shaped like 2016.
Please post when your DD is 13, 14, 15 and able to access foods without your supervision. Would love to hear how that goes.
She CAN access food without my supervision now. I just don't purposely put her in situations where she will have both no healthy alternative and the peer pressure to make a poor choice. I have a friend who is an alcoholic and I don't make him hang out with me in bars either.
So what you're saying is non-premium ice cream is like...a gateway drug?
I'm just imaging your daughter becoming an HFCS-aholic, and entering a 12 step program to help her regain control over her life.

I can imagine at her laughing at you right now.
