Your sister should have told you to come over anyway. It's rude of HER to disinvited you.

This sounds like it's on your sister. If the plan was my mom and sister and family coming over, I would not allow my MIL to disinvited them. Luckily you've got enough folks to have a great time regardless. So go do that and enjoy your Christmas!

My sister pulled a stunt similar to that on me one year and I decided to stay home. I had a much better day. I don't go to her house for Xmas at all anymore. OP, go now if you want to go, or stay home and be creative with meals. You can make cinnamon rolls with just a few ingredients (yeast being one of them that not everyone has on hand). You can find a 7-11 or Walgreens etc open where you can get stuff. Surely there's some sort of restaurant open...Denny's...something. You got this...you can make it work. Go to a movie and have hot dogs and popcorn.

It's only rude if she didn't tell you about it ahead of time - like last weekend at the latest- so your family didn't buy or make food to share.

Otherwise, how your sister is suggesting the day roll out is how our family does it. Separate family celebrations in the morning. Gather for dinner at 1.

Sounds like they are rotating them so they aren't so overwhelmed. Maybe the SIL had a anxiety attack and they had to find an alternative plan. Get out of your feelings.
