OP here. I know for sure she'll say yes! They've been ring shopping and talk all the time about marriage. She thinks it'll happen in the near future, and has no idea it's so soon.

I like your balloon idea! They'll be here for NYE while the rest of the family is somewhere else so I guess we'll have to FaceTime afterwards. I might see if I can get her boyfriend a bottle of champagne and chocolates (they're big chocolate fans) but I won't see him before he proposes.
