You think it's better without Jackie or Artie? You don't miss Howard when he was married and had all this temptation but couldn't do anything because he was married to his first wife? With Beth, he doesn't even attempt to put himself into those situations.

I like his staunch support of Israel. That's about it.

I actually do like it better now than with Jackie or Artie. They were both great and at the time I loved it but it was much more sophomoric. Also, I never really cared about the over the top sexual temptation stuff ... I think most of it is a bit anyway. The show now just seems more mature - and I'm more mature than 20 years ago - and in my opinion has really moved out of the 'shock jock' category into a sophisticated (albeit still decidedly humorous and at times immature) and compelling form of media, that should be compared to shows like the Daily Show or any of the late night shows in terms of content, production value, and insight. It's not the best shock radio or the best radio, it's one of if not the best shows, broadly defined, and I like it now more than ever because they keep improving the substance and not just going for cheap laughs.

I'm guessing OP knows about this because Stern has delivered several extended rants on the subject designed to -- guess what -- get his listeners in a tizzy as a means of negotiation. Looks like it worked. Stern is best when he stops the self-serving rants and just interviews people.

+1

and when the crew just makes fun of each other for whatever transgressions happened recently -- Benji being late to a dinner, Gary's dinner party taking too long, etc. Those bits can go on for an hour and still be hilarious.

Or JD's sheets being unwashed for a year
