Where can historical lottery data be found? I.e., who went through their wait list, so had no OOB spots, etc? Sounds like this is key information, as like the OP I am new to this and don't have much historical knowledge on what schools are good, bad, etc.

Oyster doesn't have PK3 at all, so it is out of the picture for PK3. Your likelihood of getting in at the PK4 level, unless you are in bounds OR have a Spanish-dominant child (who can test as a Spanish-dominant child), is pretty much non-existent. LAMB is an option in that there are a certain number of spots in the lottery every year. It's just a very long shot because of the limited number of spots and the large number of applications.

As for "other highly regarded schools" for the last couple of years, the number of children in the lottery has been increasing. We are at Cooke and we didn't admit any out of bounds 3 year olds last year. We're not expecting to admit any OOB 3 year olds this year either.

No clue what you're trying to say. You don't know how many spots there will be until after the lottery so apply to all you're interested in.

Unless you are focused on bilingual, I'd choose Tubman if in-bounds over all those schools but Oyster (and Oyster isn't an option OOB).

Anyone have insight if Cooke/Oyster are options? I am in a similar boat as OP (but in-bounds for Tubman. In general, what are the best options for someone in-bounds for Powell, Tubman or Bruce Monroe. Stay in-bounds or try to venture out?

I think it depends on what your commute restrictions are, OP. Where are you driving? When do you need to be there?

For example, I know people who needed to drive downtown from Mt. Pleasant, and this ruled out pretty much everything north of Mt. Pleasant. On the other hand, I also know people who live in Mt. Pleasant whose commute takes them over to Children's Hospital or up to Silver Spring, so for them, the mid-city schools like Cooke and Tubman and Garrison were ruled out.
