I have close to $300 worth of itunes gift cards/credits sitting around that I can't do anything with because I don't use itunes, and the Apple store won't let me use them at the Apple toward other Apple products. So frustrating (and most were sent through email, so I can't really re-sell them.)

Most schools would be happy to use these for educational apps. Speech therapists too.

I think most people download music illegally or for free these days so I wouldn't even think of buying an iTunes gift card.

I say stick with Starbucks for that amount and you can never go wrong..

Really depends on who you're getting it for. If it's someone affluent as just a little thank you, I'd say Starbucks because it's like a "here's a latte on me!" type of thing.
For someone like the school bus driver, I do dunkin' donuts because I figure he just probably wants a decent quick breakfast at a decent price, so it's more like "thanks for taking care of my kid -- here's breakfast on me for tomorrow!" I think McD could also be a good pick, for the same reasons.
5 Below also has gift cards -- if it's for a kid or teen as a thanks for something, that might work.

Starbucks feels more like a special treat - Target and Amazon just go towards me buying shampoo or diaper genie refills. Not so special. But I agree the price point matters. If it's $10 or higher, Target or Amazon are better. There aren't enough Dunkin Donuts around for that one to be good (unless you're in the Boston area). iTunes requires you to know what products they have and if they'd use it. We wouldn't in my family.

heaven forbid a poor person might want a treat they might not otherwise splurge on.

There's a starbucks in every Target. Spare me.

Yes to a $10 gift card to Starbucks. We've always used Spotify and now Apple Music. I wouldn't know what to do with an iTunes gift card.

I think the $10 vs the $5 makes a difference in that situation.

I'd rather have Dunkin' Donuts than Starbucks. The money will go further and the coffee there is better.

Starbucks - even if the person doesn't drink coffee, they could get a sandwich or dessert.

Another +1 for Starbucks. Try to make it $10.
