If as CAIR claims Americans bear some responsibility for the attack, then clearly, Americans bear some responsibility for an effective response to it, which could include excluding all foreign nationals of the Islamic faith.

To the extent that might seem a bit extreme to CAIR, the response would be: "CAIR, you bear some responsibility for the exclusion of Islamic persons from the U.S. since that was a reaction to your finger-pointing."

CAIR is the Moslem version of La Raza. Groups that want more of their people in the US yet bitch about who we are. But there is always a guilty liberal who takes their side.

I love how they seem irked by western oppression...in countries where women are at best second class citizens (and in reality victims of human rights abuses). Still makes my skin crawl watching media clips of men in mosques talking about their peaceful religion...with no women in sight...

When the Middle East modernizes and fully embraces the rule of law and ceases all forms of human rights abuses then maybe I'll revisit my thoughts on the western world's role in the rise of Islamic extremism and barbaric acts of violence.

I love how CAIR etc., al Qaeda, ISIS etc. conveniently forget how U.S. aided Bosnian Muslims during the Balkan war. It's all about the various grievances.

These are people from countries with poor economic opportunities and we are a more attractive enemy than their failed rulers. Consider the following: why aren't most Arab states taking in Syrian refugees? Wouldn't that make sense?

But no. Saudi Arabia would rather fund a mosque in Germany than take in refugees. It serves two purposes: to minimize discord at home and to islamicize the west. The Brussels suburb where the terrorists are from is a case in point. Saudi happily funded several mosques Wahhabist mosques there.

Saudi is funding terrorism and yet we happily receive their leadership as they buy our the entire Four Seasons for a weekend. We should put more pressure ion them to rein this in and to stop stoking up fundamentalism.

I don't get the person who says CAIR is very good at what it does.

I haven't followed this group at all, but I did see their press conference following the San Bernadino shootings and thought it was a shambles. It did deliver a message of Muslims opposing the shootings, which was positive, particularly after all the claims following similar incidents where so many, particularly on DCUM, seemed obsessed with Muslims not speaking out.

But apart from that, CAIR came across as clueless as to good presentation and how to appeal to the average Americans who are their audience. It appeared very amateurish.

Learn the facts. Start with Desert Storm and American sanctions which, according to UNICEF caused the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi children, which number was undisputed by former Sec. of State Madeleine "We think it was worth it" Albright. Their deaths resonated throughout the Middle East. Americans have a hard time understanding that.

America's knee-jerk attack on Afghanistan, the destruction of Iraq, then Libya, and now Syria have created enough hatred to last generations.

The US has itself to blame.

Britain and France divided up the Ottoman empire to suit their needs. They did not do it based a common language, religion and culture. That is were the unrest started.

The idea the a religious holy land, based on some ancient fairy tail, should also be plopped into an area where people speak a different language, have a different culture, and the majority of the people practice a different religion will always result in hostility while ruled and policed by a minority.

This is based on the premise that Americans directly choose what American gov't does. We don't. We are not a democracy. We should stop pretending we are and start playing checkers like the rest of the world, or whatever.

No, I don't agree that my neighbors and I are to blame for the war coming home. I didn't agree to this war. I don't wage this war. There is nothing I can do to stop this war. So what am I being held accountable for exactly?

They were pissed off before our foreign wars. No calyphyte for some means no peace. These people are like the Inquisition but Christianity outgrew that centuries ago.

I don't think Americans 'bare' responsibility. We are very good at covering it up.
