Because I prefer to spend my money on years they will actually remember. My kids aren't actually there yet but I did this as a kid. It turned out I was actually better prepared than many of them who had been lifers, my parents saved all that money, and it turns out the diploma never says how many years you went there and colleges seem impressed with you regardless.

Is this a real question? Cost savings seem to be an easy-to-understand answer. I am sure there are many more.
