The opposite happened at my husband's job and the nut hole lives down the street. Constantly touting his cousin's run for office. He was told to zip it.

We took his political sign from his front yard.

I think you should be relieved that you have such a professional work environment that you can be working side by side with some one for years and not let personal politics come in the picture. It reflects well on your work environment, because these things shouldn't matter in the work place. Unfollow this person's posts if they're distracting you.

This. I have FB friends I thought were regular people until they started sharing these types of things :

People like that are few and far between (on both sides of the fence). It is wonderful when you can have a good informed discussion between two people who have opposing views. Unfortunately, the trend lately seems to be people really getting worked up and not really having all the facts (both sides do this FWIW - one a little more than others, but I have seen both sides engage in this type of rhetoric). It is OK to have opposing views. It is not OK to scream and yell and name call because one does not agree with you.
