Scherzo molto vivace Tchaikovsky something or other. In a food stupor from Tgiving so cannot remember what the hell I'm talking about but I'm sure some DCUMers will know.

Samuel Barber, Adagio for Strings. typically makes the critics' list of "saddest classical pieces of all time" or similar.

Revolutionary Etude played by Stanislav Bunin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0h1J0pWENw

Not really classical but I also love Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet played by Evgeny Kissin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asWU3OzOrK8

And Moonlight Sonata (Beethoven) played by Wilhelm Kempff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6txOvK-mAk

Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, first movement. The version conducted by Sir Georg Solti and performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is perfection.

Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini - an orchestral version, and especially minutes 14-18. Some of the most exquisite music I've ever heard.
