The real person is dead and they both assumed his identity. A real refugee in the spirit of the law is ruled out for both. The individuals may have European citizenship but have tapped into migrant routes for what purpose?
Two posible reasons:
1) because their real identities were on watch lists;
2) they wanted to incriminate refugees who ISIS hates and cause animosity for the refugees in the West.

This is a reasonable approach. The administration is meeting with Congressional leadership today, I believe. Maybe Obama will follow-up with an address or press conference to assure the American people.
Think back to the ebola scar. Lots of people -- including many DCUM posters -- were convinced that we had to close the borders immediately or we would all die from ebola. Administration officials testified that there would not be a major outbreak in the US. Critics jumped all over them. Anything Obama said was ridiculed. In the end, Obama proved to have been correct, though is critics will never give him credit for it. I have a lot of doubts that this time would be different.

An additional point--the US vetting process begins AFTER the UN vetting process. So, the US process takes 18-24 months, and that's on top of the UNHCR registration process.

They will likely be fast tracked for political reasons. This means other immigrant petitions and uscis processing times will likely be delayed, not that the checks will be less rigorous. The people most likely to suffer as a result of this decision are other immigrants (particularly refugee and asylee petitioners) who are applying for statuses or who have pending requests.
There is no fast tracking. I knew of a congressman who work for five years to reunite a family. Seriously if you don't know what you are talking about just at in my opinion.
I am the pp. I work at uscis, programs with a lot of political heft can get fast tracked and it sounds to me (I'm not working on this) that the Syrian refugees wI'll move to the front of the line, it's the only way they get here in 2016

That's what I think too. I'm in Canada. Our new PM is going to let the U.S. screen refugees first, and then Canada's system will screen them as well before they come in here. Apparently this will all happen before he allows 25,000 in before January. So let's just say I hope the U.S. system is a good one. Not just for terrorists, does anyone need criminals of any kind coming in?
Anyone with no issues at all in their background, fine.

I don't know - I think if someone is an evil terrorist type person intent on killing lots of people that they are likely going to plot a way to get to the US that doesn't involve coming in through a refugee method.
