I'm the 950 poster. Mine wet the bed once too, but it wasn't too much (she caught herself midstream) and the spot/smell cleaned up with baking soda. I just coated it and left it, and went back and coated it again....for hours. It did the trick.

My DD is five. She wet the bed one time and it was such a huge hassle. Got the waterproof cover the same day and it hasn't happened again.

This is what I do (for smaller applications) though I wait longer too.

Vinyl is not so good for you. Other alternatives?

We do too! I bought it while pregnant because we just bought a new bed and I didn't want my water to break all over it and ruin it. And now that we have a toddler it just seems like a good idea. Puke is often liquid, and comes out at the worst times...
