OP, the thing about online dating is that you never know if someone is going to show up. That's why you meet for coffee before asking someone out for dinner or a longer date.

There are some crazy scammers online, but most people are legit. Go back to some of the older threads and learn a few more "rules" about online dating.

Most women don't even give their phone number or text you until after they have met you. I, for one, don't spend a lot of time getting to know someone prior to meeting them. Before I invest a whole bunch of time, get my hopes up, and start to really like someone -- I want to meet them face-to-face.

If the coffee date goes well, I will exchange phone numbers with them. Then, I am much more responsive with texts, etc.

Women are just as confused by online dating as men. She may have just been trying not to look desperate by texting you back so quick. You just don't know.

Don't take it personally, though. If a stranger loses interest in you -- it's not because she doesn't like you. She doesn't even KNOW you.

You want to reach out to several women. Go on coffee dates with 3-5 of them. Ask the ones you like out for a second and third date. Then, if you meet someone you really like, think about becoming exclusive. If you put all your eggs in one basket, you will be crushed if she doesn't show up for a coffee date.

OP, in this day and age, it seems that people always need to be connected and available. And that is just unfair.

She could have been doing a million things. I.e., sleeping, charging her phone, etc.

For you to already be upset that it took her so long (your opinion) to respond to a simple text is just presumptuous.

No offense OP, but it sounds to me as if you have issues within and about yourself that you need to work on before jumping into the dating game. If you let this show, you will be single for a long time.

Op-I'm online dating and have been going to bed at 8pm. It's been a pathetically sleepy fall. Also, I often don't respond at night because I don't want to get into a texting back and forth at night. There could be many reasons considering she has never met you and wants to meet you. If she knew you, then maybe, just maybe, it could be a different scenario.

OP, take online dating with a grain of salt. I hear all these stories about these couple who meet on it, yet most of my friends met their partners either at school or through people at work.

If I was in her shoes and you are this needy before you have even met her, I'd run for the hills. Chill out. It's not like there aren't others beside her!
