+1. But I wasn't a huge fan. He forgot that I had an epidural and so came in saying I was taking too long to push. The nurses shooed him away, only to have him come back later threatening forceps. The nurses didn't seem to be a huge fan and just said that he probably wanted the baby to be delivered before Dr Footer got there at 6am so he'd get paid.

he tells women that he doesn't like GW so it makes sense that he may try to find ways to not go there.

he does have a very calm almost medicated seeming demeanor. i find it creepy but can be where others may find it reassuring.

He is very calm and supportive. Lots of experience. He is very well known at Sibley and his nurse and assistant are very friendly.

Yes he has privileges at both.

He will never go there. At the last minute he will find excuse to be at Sibley.

He's terrific. Yes, he is prolife, i believe, but it is his religion (catholic). He delivered two healthy baby girls through one difficult labor and one difficulty pregnancy (previa, diabetes, etc) that required c section. He was my ob 10 years before I had kids. I trust him completely.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Funny you should say that about reputation. I went to the ER and when the nurses and Doctor looked at my chart they made great comments about how much they love him.

+1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I felt this way when I delivered with his back up Dr Footer. It felt like he didn't care at all because I was DeSouza's patient. I went on to have two VBACs in very similar labor scenarios so I don't think the CS was necessary.

I have absolutely no shame in sharing this story.

Funny you didn't mention that in your first post.

Agree, very calming demeanor. PP, I would be careful to make a statement about his beliefs especially when you don't know for a fact.

PP -- that is why I used the word 'think' and also said, I wished I had asked him about it. Just said it was something I personally wished I had followed up on because it would have mattered to me to know! And I would have loved if someone else had brought it up on this very board before I got my care with him....that is all.

But "bringing" it up without any facts is actually not proper thing to do. Shame on you.
