I stimmed 5 IUI's quite well with Gonal F. When we decided to switch to IVF, we stimmed with Bravelle, all during the recall time with poor results. Now, I have not gottren my period in many months. Not saying it's related to Bravelle but I wasted MONTHS using ineffective Bravelle. Doctors get to a threshold in which they dont keep adding doses and vials of meds and chalk it up to a bad cycle. Hmm. Maybe it was faulty meds. I for one am furious. I would like all of my money back for the cycles, the meds and all of the anguish we feel about wasting precious time and probably not getting our chance at having our child. Beyond sad, angry. Some of the people on this blog sound like they work for FERRING. Boo.

I am SOOOOO excited! Come on ladies! This will be the one time that something in the IF world turns in our favor. We'll never know if it was bad Bravelle that made cycles not work, but I for one am getting a big check in the mail and am absolutely ecstatic. I have had fantasies about being refunded for all of my failed cycles (3 IUIs and 6 IVFs, one worked) and this seems like the stuff of dreams.

IUI cycles in general have a very low success rate. The fact your physician attempted more than a few IUI cycles is a failure in and of itself. These drugs are dosed to effect. Bravelle was not a "dud" as mentioned in other posts. It simply came in under specifications after 12 months. Physicians monitor response and if the response was less than anticipated due to lower specs they would have simply added an additional vial, maybe 2 during the cycle. Many patients do not stim very well during these cycles and it is not drug related.

I just called and they are sending me the kit. I really do wonder how the drug impacted my ivf cycle and quality of the embryos. We still have not had success from that batch. Maybe they are so fast to reimburse so that people won't come after them to cover the cost of their failed cycle(s).

I called as soon as I saw this post last week. They asked if I had bought the drug during the affected time period. I said yes, and they said, "You'll get a refund." So they said they're sending me a kit to send back any leftovers, and I'm to send copies of my receipts. It's supposed to take 4 to 6 weeks to get a check from them.

I'm curious if anyone has called/spoken to the reps. I just got the letter tonight and will call tomorrow.

For one, they are already refunding the cost of the drug, which is all anyone would likely get out of a class action lawsuit. Really the only other way someone would get a payout is if they suffered physically from the drug. The best example here would be if their health suffered due to having to stim longer than normal due to the reduced potency.

Unfortunately, if people want to change the outcome of things like this in the future, it will have to be at the governmental level. Venting in this forum, while carthartic, won't initiate change.

Not to start a legal flame war, but why no breach of warranty claim with consequential damages? Guess we'll see when the inevitable class action is filled.
