Merry Madagascar was a huge favorite in house last year with our 3 year old Lots of laughs, although not religious.

We also have the Little Bear Winter Stories DVD that is so lovely and gentle. Its's perfect for 2-5 year olds. I bought it from ebay and the kids love it.
