I need to know about this engaged on the first date business! How does that even happen?

24. DH was 25. Engaged for 9 months. Dated for ~3 years before getting engaged, and we were friends in college.

I was 28, he was 37. Engagement was 19 months.

I was the one who pushed for the engagement. He was 37 and never married or engaged. I slightly feared he was commitment-phobic, and I didn't want to waste my time if he was. We've been married for 6 years, and so far so good.

Engaged at-Me 39, DH 40 (my first, his second). Dated 16 months, engaged 6 months (moved in 2 months after engagement). Married 5 years.

Both 31, Got married at 32. We had started dating at 27.

I was 20, DH was 23. We had been dating for 2.5 years and were engaged for another 1.5 years.

Both 30 at engagement after 3 years together.

37, he was 38, we date for a year nine months before getting engaged. Second marriage for him

29(me), 329him), 5 month engagement.
Still married 15 yrs later.

Engaged on a first date at 19 (he was 20), married 2 years later.

Still going strong in our 30s.

28. Married at 29- 3 kids by 34

19 (me) and 23 (DH) - engaged for 8 years while we actually grew up - married 15 more with 3 kids now.

22 and 22. Eloped (oh to be young and in love...).

Got engaged at 18 to a guy that was 20. We stayed engaged for nearly a year but never actually made wedding plans, and then broke up.

Got engaged to my (now) husband at age 22. He was 28. We were engaged in February and married in September...so about 7 months. We have been married 17 years.

One week away from 26. DH was also 25. We had been dating for 2.5 years, living together for 1 year. (But we were friends since we were 18.) We were engaged for 13 months. Now married for 8.5 years.
